CHILDHOOD AND PERSONAL LIFE
Edvard Grieg's childhood and personal life were interesting and had many parts that added joy to his life. For example, he carried a frog figurine his in his pocket. His mother and father were named Alexander Grieg and Gesine Hagerup. In addition, Edvard had four other siblings named John Grieg, Maren, Ingeborg Benedicte, and Elisabeth. His father was a merchant and his mother was a music teacher.
Edvard took piano lessons at age six as well which was a good thing considering that his mom was a music teacher. When Edvard made his music he never wanted to make it public or have it acknowledged. In 1885 Edvard moved to his new home with his spouse, Nina in Troldhaugen which was just outside of Bergen, so he wasn't ever that far from his parents.
